p family ~ sunflower first birthday

Have I mentioned how much I love sunflowers? I jest because I feel like I have 5 social media captions (at least) from the past month talking about how much I love sunflowers. When I received this request, for a first birthday session in a sunflower field, I was so excited. When I met the little girl and saw how ADORABLE she was, I was even more so.

This cutie’s mom wasn’t sure how she would do since summer sunsets often coincide with little ones’ bedtime. As is evidenced by the photos, she was perfect. We were able to get so many smiles! I think she enjoyed the random couches, tire swings, etc. among the flowers. Plus she got snacks along the way.

Since I am such a sucker for the combination of beautiful golden light and sunflowers, I brought my mom and oldest two daughters with me for the evening. I forced them to be in some photos too #photographerkidproblems before and after my birthday session. The other fun thing is that my client brought her mom to the session to help out and they lived on the same street that I did growing up. It was a great little reunion!
